Their romantic story began in July of 2017, and they were married in February of 2018.

Meet Shawn

Before Shawn ended up on the reality show "Cupid Palace", he had tried his luck meeting his dream woman on his own. He had gone through other dating websites, where he met a "Svetlana" and exchanged emails back and forth with her. She told him that she was in love with him, but she needed help. Financial help...

That's how it all started. First it was money to pay for an English tutor to learn English, then her parents ended up sick and needed an expensive surgery, then she had her -own- financial issues. Nearly thirty thousand dollars later, the two of them agreed to meet.

Svetlana said she needed money for a passport, visa, airline tickets, and more so that she could fly to the USA and join her new "True Love" Shawn. Shawn was a true gentleman, he provided everything that she asked for and was so excited to meet her face to face. She was supposed to arrive on a plane from the Ukraine, and Shawn was waiting for her with a bundle of roses.

He waited and waited, until thirteen hours later when the airport closed. She never showed. He couldn't believe that she just wouldn't show up, there had to be something happening to her, and he was going to save her. Less than a week later, he was in the air flying to Ukraine to go find Svetlana.

He was excited and worried when he got to Ukraine, and he made for the the apartment address that she had given him to transfer money to from Western Union. There was no Svetlana there, and no one knew who she was. He was there for two weeks, with not a trace of "Svetlana" anywhere.

Shawn had been scammed. It sucked, it hurt deep down. He trusted her, loved her, did everything for her, and he had been betrayed. He wasn't going to give up on love though, and decided to keep his search going. That's when he came to Oksanalove, and became a platinum member to work directly with a personal matchmaker. Meet Irina

Irina found out about OksanaLove, and the Cupid Palace reality show from one of her friends. She knew that she was ready for a relationship with an American man and wanted to be on the show.

Money was tight however, especially in Ukraine. She owned her own small photo printing firm, printing wedding photography albums, and pulled in between $500 and $1,000 a month, which is great money for Ukraine. However, she had to have around $2,000 to travel to America and pay for her participation in the show.

Irina and Shawn are both very traditional, and it was essential for both of them to get the approval of Irina's parents for their marriage. So, they decided to travel to Ukraine, where they received the blessing of their parents. When they returned to the United States, the big day came!
